About Content Research

We are moving into the Zettabyte era.

Content is expanding at an accelerating rate. In 2007 IDC estimated that 281 exabytes of digital information had been created globally by computers, cameras, iPods, DVDS and the multiplicity of digital devices that are now ubiquitous. One exabyte is equivalent to 50,000 times the amount of information stored in the Library of Congress.

By mid-2009 the digital universe is expected to exceed one Zettabyte, or 1,000 exabytes in size.

Much of this content can be viewed or read via multiple platforms. Print or video content, for example, can be accessed on-line or through mobile devices.

But with so much content and so many ways to access it, consumers need to navigate their way through a dizzying array of options in order to find what they want. Content creators must find ways of attracting the attention and interest of target viewers, listeners and users.
